Author Guidelines

The Editorial Board of Readings in Political Economy welcomes the submission of original, high-quality scholarly manuscripts that demonstrate academic rigor, methodological soundness, and a meaningful contribution to existing literature. Authors are requested to carefully read and comply with the following guidelines before submitting their manuscripts. Adherence to these instructions will facilitate an efficient review and publication process.

Manuscript Originality
Submitted manuscripts must represent original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal, conference, or publisher. Simultaneous submissions are not permitted. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all necessary permissions have been obtained for copyrighted material used in the manuscript.

Language and Writing Quality
All manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission. The journal reserves the right to return manuscripts requiring substantial language improvement prior to peer review.

Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare manuscripts using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). The document should be typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing and 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides. Pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript.
A typical manuscript should include:
● Title of the manuscript
● Abstract
● Keywords
● Main text
● Acknowledgements (if applicable)
● Funding information (if applicable)
● Conflict of Interest Statement
● References
● Tables and Figures (embedded within the text or provided separately, as requested)

Title Page
The title page should contain:
● Full title of the manuscript
● Full names of all authors
● Institutional affiliations
● ORCID iD (where available)
● Corresponding author’s complete postal address
● Email address and contact number
● A concise running title (optional)
To ensure an unbiased review process, authors may also be requested to submit a blinded version of the manuscript with all identifying information removed.

Abstract and Keywords
Each manuscript should include a structured or unstructured abstract of 150-250 words that clearly summarizes the objectives, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions of the study. The abstract should be self-contained and should not include citations or unexplained abbreviations.
Authors should provide 4-6 keywords immediately following the abstract.

Manuscript Length
Although flexibility may be exercised depending on the nature of the submission, original research articles generally range between 5,000 and 10,000 words, inclusive of references, tables, and appendices. Authors should ensure that the manuscript is concise while providing sufficient methodological and analytical detail.

Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals and cited appropriately within the text. Each table and figure must include a descriptive title and, where applicable, a source note.
Illustrations should be of publication quality with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material.

References and Citation Style
Authors should follow a consistent and internationally recognized citation style throughout the manuscript. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and every reference in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript.
Authors are responsible for verifying the completeness and accuracy of all bibliographic information prior to submission.

Ethical Standards
The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. Authors should ensure that their research complies with accepted ethical principles and institutional requirements. Where research involves human participants or sensitive data, appropriate ethical approval should have been obtained before conducting the study.
Any form of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or inappropriate authorship is considered unethical and may result in rejection or retraction of the manuscript.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used only as writing or language assistance tools. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, interpretation, and integrity of the manuscript. AI tools must not be listed as authors. Any substantial use of AI during manuscript preparation should be disclosed appropriately in the manuscript.

Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using recognized similarity detection software. Manuscripts demonstrating unacceptable levels of textual similarity or evidence of academic misconduct may be rejected without peer review.
Authors are expected to properly acknowledge the work of others through accurate citation and referencing.

Peer Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine its suitability for publication. Suitable submissions are then evaluated through a double-blind peer review process conducted by independent experts in the relevant field.
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:
● Accept
● Accept with Minor Revisions
● Major Revisions Required
● Reject
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the final decision regarding publication.

Revision of Manuscripts
When revisions are requested, authors should submit the revised manuscript within the specified period together with a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. Failure to submit revisions within the prescribed time may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from consideration.

Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research. All authors should approve the final version of the manuscript before submission and agree to its publication.
Any changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all listed authors.

Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence or appear to influence the research findings or editorial process. If no conflicts exist, authors should clearly state that no conflict of interest is declared.

Funding Information
Authors should identify all organizations or agencies that financially supported the research. If no external funding was received, this should also be stated.

Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance for publication, authors may be required to complete the journal’s copyright or licensing agreement. Authors should ensure that submitted material does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.

Proofs
Accepted manuscripts will undergo copyediting and typesetting before publication. The corresponding author will receive page proofs for final review. Only typographical or factual corrections should be made at this stage. Extensive changes after typesetting may not be permitted.
