University and Community Service: Practical Examples of University Contribution to Development, Innovation, and Solving Societal Problems

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate the true role of education in general, and community education in particular, in linking academic knowledge to reality by using the outputs of scientific research to solve the daily problems that society suffers from. This is done with the goal of developing a sense of social responsibility and citizenship among students, while providing leading applied models of successful problem-solving-based education in meeting the needs of individuals, improving quality of life, and overcoming difficulties and obstacles in various fields such as health, transportation, hospitality, nutrition, local governance, and others.
