This study examines the mechanisms for strengthening the role of municipalities in Algeria and combating corruption within certain local administrations through the implementation of good governance principles. They serve as an intermediary between citizens and the central administration, particularly in the provision of public services and the implementation of public policies. In this context, the study aims to analyze the functions and responsibilities of local authorities in promoting local development and delivering public services, in accordance with the powers and prerogatives conferred upon them by the legislation in force.
